Frame of mind changes rapidly; perspective changes from moment to moment; perception evades consistency. This work strives to express those moments in life when a yes or no question cannot be answered; those moments when definitions become blurred and continually shift.

Instead of dictating meaning to the images, I combine universally recognized symbols with composition, lighting, and printing techniques to create a fundamental emotional context from which the viewer is free to extract the meanings he or she sees. I use the human figure as a device, a form that all people can relate to.

I further extrapolate on the personal nature of the work by printing the images small so that the viewer must stand close to the image to see it properly as opposed to a large image where a viewer must distance themselves from the work to get an overall view. I use the body and size of the work to create an intimate relationship between the viewer and the artwork.
